SYMPTOMS:

The following symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure (based on the incubation period of MERS-CoV viruses).

  • Fever

  • Cough

  • Shortness of breath

EMERGENCY WARNING SIGNS:

(INCLUDES BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING)

  • Trouble breathing

  • Persistent pain or pressure in the chest

  • New confusion or inability to arouse

  • Bluish lips or face

THOSE DESCRIBED AS HAVING A HIGHER RISK FOR COMPLICATIONS OF COVID-19

  • People aged 65 years or older

  • People with a pre-existing heart condition

  • People with high blood pressure  or heart disease with complications

  • People with chronic lung condition

  • People with diabetes, renal failure or liver disease

  • People who are immunocompromised including cancer treatment

HOW TO PROTECT YOURSELF

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least seconds or minimally use hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol

  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands

  • Avoid close contact especially with people who are sick

HOW TO PROTECT OTHERS

  • Stay home if you are sick

  • Cover coughs and sneezes

  • Wear a facemask if you are sick when around others

  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched areas
